Story Overview:
Every time you look through a telescope, you’re following in their footsteps—you just don’t know it yet.
Cosmic Pioneers is a cinematic dramatization that brings to life the story of three forgotten Irish astronomers who changed how we see the universe. Set against the margins of empire and history, scandal and rebellion, generations of Irish stargazers defied limits on land and in science, unlocking the cosmos long before the modern age claimed it. “Ireland helped unlock the universe. It’s time the world knew."
These visionaries built, tested, and risked everything to understand the cosmos, without recognition, and often against the odds.
Through immersive reenactments, you won’t just hear their story, you’ll experience it!
You’ll stand beside them in the moments before discovery, feel the tension of experiments that could fail, and witness the breakthroughs that still shape how we explore the night sky today.
This is more than a history documentary. It’s a chance to reclaim a lost chapter of Irish achievement and share it with the world in a way that’s cinematic, emotional, and unforgettable.
And of course, it's got some sizzling tid-bits of scandal thrown in there for good measure too!

Budget overview
Films are funded in stages, and the more money you can raise from the public, the greater chance you have of getting a funding body like Screen Ireland or the British Film Institute to greenlight production funding.
With public financial support off the bat, getting official funding bodies to help finance production will be so much easier, as they can see a return on their invesment.
With Cosmic Pioneers we are currently in the first of four phases; The Development Phase.
We're building a dedicated community of passionate and inspired astronomy afficionados that will ensure the film gets made, gets picked up by multiple award winning film festivals globally, and sees the light of day in theaters around the world before getting streamed to millions more online.
