character one: the heatseeker
The story focuses on three main figures from Irish history, 2 male and 1 female, scientists all, born in the 19th century and living into the early part of the 20th when Ireland was still under British rule and not exactly the richest of countries.
None were born with a silverspoon in mouth, and all had to work very hard to achieve what they did, often taking real risks and beating the odds to achieve something remarkable at a time when equipment for astronomy and photography was anything but cheap, or accessible!
Casting for the film has not yet begun, and that is a wonderful opportunity for "backers" of the IndieGoGo campaign to be part of the process.
I'm not, however, going to give the entire game away and just tell the story here. What's the point in that? It wouldn't do these amazing historic figures any justice at all, and sure there'd be no movie to entertain the socks off us.
Instead, I want to draw the audience in, get you more and more intrigued, not just by the people, but their backgrounds and what they had to do to achieve what they did!
That's how you tell a story, you slowly reveal the "bigger" picture and you make people fall in love with the characters, their lives and the world they live(d) in.

Having an amazing story is one thing, but if no one knows about it, then you're dead in the water before you even launch!

Because in this day and age, with so much noise and competition out there, you have to fight for attention or no one knows you exist, and that costs a lot of money.
But by building a community around the story and a worldwide audience before making it, you can guarantee its success, and official funding bodies will be on board, alongside brand partners and licensees.
So it's imperative that the audience gets behind it as early as possible, ensuring its success.
Crowdfunding is amazing, and one source of raising cash to make a movie, but it does so much more than that, it builds a paying audience, and that's important for several reasons.
You see, Crowdfunding, whilst amazing, is not enough to get a movie of this magnitude made.
So you need to boost cash raised from Crowdfunding with other sources of funding that helps you reach, and hopefully, exceed your minimum budget.

We will use the funds raised on IndieGoGo to do three things,
- Showcase to official film funding bodies we already have a paying audience, so they know a growing audience gives them a return on investment, &,
- Give us a ready-made audience encouraging brands to license rights raise the bulk of funding we need, &,
- Provides us with a base audience from we can grow and secure private financial investors that can get a return at the box-office.
So this means we are looking at every funding opportunity to raise sufficient cash to ensure the project makes it past the edit and gets into cinemas worldwide, following which we will release via AVOD.
